Hello Friends!

The present economic crisis in Europe, United States and Africa seems to be making everyone very uncomfortable. People don't like the uncertainty and we all feel so powerless because there seems to be nothing ordinary Joe Public can do to alleviate suffering. The people with the power (i.e. Politicians, business leaders and religious leaders) can't seem to convince the rest of us to trust their judgement.

I'm not surprised that most people have lost their confidence in political and religious leaders because of past betrayals and a general "I'm alright Jack" attitude of past decades.

Defending massive bonuses seem to come from the top and never from the bottom. The kind of figures that are awarded as bonuses nowadays is equivalent to a lottery win by Joe Public and I still cannot reconcile the amounts these greedy people award themselves with the jobs they do. The rest of us have to make do with salary, why can't these fat cats do the same.

I will happily do the job of a chief executive for half the going rate and I can promise I will do a better job than most. What gives these people who are already on salary the sense of entitlement to bonuses which are constantly being demanded  wether they perform and achieve their targets or not.

I can understand most fat cats getting paid exorbitant sums in wages and bonuses before the general economic decline. Now that the world is in the middle of economic depression, we need our politicians to stand up and be counted and rethink terms and conditions of bank employees within government owned institutions. The bank clerk who are usually the faces we the public see when we visit are usually not well compensated for what they do.

If we are not careful, city institutions paying millions to their executive management in pay and bonuses will create a situation where currency will lose it's value.

No one, I repeat no one is worth the astronomical figures paid to Chief Executives of banks, footballers, celebrities such as film and music artistes.

There is so much inequality on this planet and those who demand more than they are worth are the most immoral and unethical souls right now. If you want millions for doing absolutely nothing, go buy a lottery ticket like the rest of us.

Whatever happens, let us keep smiling!
